Nationals Park Service

The District just issued its wishlist for the design of its forthcoming waterfront baseball stadiuim, and the WashTimes has a review. Apparently, DC intends to join those cities who recently started trending away from the much-copied Camden Yards retro model in favor of futuristic and/or locally-inspired design. According to site managers, the city is looking for something "timeless, unique in the nation's capital and its waterfront setting, and representative of 21st-century architectural ideals." And in the weirdly compressed timeframe set by the District, applications are due in two weeks, so we should begin seeing the design ideas soon.
