Wide Load

As a light consumer of music (besides those increasingly rare moments when I'm on the treadmill), the growing industry of paid iPod loader seems like a waste to me. But I guess if your collection is massive, then the service could be worthwhile. The NYTimes estimates that "converting enough CD's to fill a 40-gigabyte iPod can take 60 to 100 hours, depending on the computer's speed." But for just a buck or two per CD, "the professional loaders will embark on the time-consuming process of copying a music collection" for you. Seems like a pretty sweet, and lucrative, gig to me.
