A Home for Baseball - or Maybe a Cher Concert - Norfolk is reportedly considering a nautical-themed riverside major league baseball stadium should it win its unlikely attempt to bring the Montreal Expos to town. Some features proposed by the leading booster group:

• twin gun turrets on the roof that would shoot fireworks each time the home team hit a home run

• a Navy fighter jet displayed on the outfield wall, with anchor chains and ship’s bells at every corner, with roofs that look like the sails of ships

• naming rights that would include the phrase "Navy Yard" - e.g. "Northrop Grumman Field at Navy Yard"

Personally, I'd rather see D.C. get the team and build a stadium within walking distance from my house.
