Red Box, Yellow Box

El WaPo is to Express as the WashTimes is to.... the "Examiner." Not that the Times owns the new free daily tabloid, available starting tomorrow throughtout the Washington metro area. They just have owners with similar ideologies. (Reclusive publisher Philip Anshutz, who also owns the San Francisco sister paper, is an evangelical Christian and a major contributor to James Dobson's Focus on the Family, which made the news recently by outing SpongeBob.)

Should one choose, you could pick up a copy of DC's answer to the NYPost from one of their colorful newspaper boxes across town, or, if your neighborhood income is high enough, you might even find one delivered free to your doorstep. Honestly, though, I'd much rather read Express's snarky celebrity slams* than do anything to contribute to the coffers of yet another billionaire bigot.

*Excellent example this morning: Reporting on the demise of the Marie Osmond radio show, the LookOut section headlined "In 2.3 Million Years, Andromeda Will Mourn."
