Norfolk: We're TsunamiReady!

Maybe they think it's a better tourist slogan than "Life. Lived Daily," but for whatever reason, the sheltered harbor city will be recognized January 24th by federal officials as the first sizable East Coast community to meet seismic sea wave standards. (A TsunamiReady community must have disaster training for workers and residents and install special warning and instruction signs in vulnerable areas.)

Apparently, the slight tsunami-generating risks in the Atlantic have more to do with landslides (and asteroid strikes) than earthquakes, but you can't be too cautious, can you? (Especially when federal money is concerned.)
