Happy Leap Second!

Celebrations for the arrival of 2006 will be slightly delayed this new year, as 2005 gets one extra second so that Earth time can catch up with atomic time. (That's a whole 'nother second of partying out in LA this weekend, Ben!)

Also, it warms my geeky heart to know that there's such a thing as the International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service, to decree such things.
