The irony is almost too perfect: Malls are now being designed to resemble the downtown commercial districts they replaced. What sweet vindication for urban sophisticates!
I'm glad that Slate has caught up with Beaverhausen, albeit nearly 3 years after the fact. But my biggest question is how can you write an article on this topic and fail to mention The Grove? And on a related note, I expect a full review of the tar pit-adjacent retail experience during your trip to the West Coast next week, John.
