Reopening - After lunch today, Chris and I got to walk the fresh pavement of Pennsylvania Ave. out in front of the White House. The street reopened as a pedestrian thoroughfare this morning. It's nice to see some of the construction barriers coming down around town and experience the newer "security upgrades" that are designed to maintain access and present a more pleasant streetscape. For what it's worth, we did not see First Lady Laura Bush sneaking outside for a smoke.
