Is It Safe? - A long front-pager in today's WaPo relates how unprepared we remain in defending against bioterrorism. The article cites "the most advanced current program, called Biowatch," in which "technicians remove filters from air-sniffing units in about 30 cities once a day and carry them to labs for computerized analysis in search of about 10 biological agents." Don't you just know it makes me feel real safe to see one of these contraptions huffing away on the platform at my Metrorail station every morning. :-P
