Heather Has Two State Court Proceedings - Our Texas correspondent "S" sends the latest lesbian legal news from deep in the heart: an intermediate appeals court in the Lone Star State has recognized a same-sex second-parent adoption. And in another landmark ruling, the Vermont court vying for jurisdiction with Virginia in the case of a separated lesbian couple has ruled that both members of a registered civil union are automatic parents of a child born into it. The move pits Judge William Cohen of Rutland County Family Court against Judge John Prosser of Frederick County Circuit Court in a test of interstate comity that will likely end up in the gay-unfriendly Virginia Supreme Court.
