Four More Years - Sometimes, the news is just too depressing to read. Emotionally, I am skirting the edges of feeling resigned over a Bush-Cheney victory in November. Apparently, the American electorate remains traumatized by 9/11 and will pull the lever out of fear rather than hope. The worst thing about such an outcome is that George W. has proven time and time again that he learns nothing from his mistakes -- which are legion -- because he is never penalized for them. So the semi-charmed life will continue, even as he blunders his way from crisis to quagmire, dragging all of us with him. I just pray it's not a cliff I see up ahead. (Happy Friday, y'all!)

P.S. Lest anyone think that my disenchantment with Bush is solely because of his dismal, politics-driven record on gay rights issues, you should know that I actually think our society is past the point of anyone, even the President, keeping us down -- FMAs and SuperDOMAs be damned. We really will bury the bigot brigade. So I can't view Bush's allegiance to them as anything but another sign of his abiding intellectual insecurity -- which causes him to cling to faith when attempts at reasoned introspection fail him.
