That's all I can stands, I can't stands no more - Last night, in Washington, the national board of directors of the Log Cabin Republicans voted 22-2 to withhold their endorsement for Bush's re-election. Drew, who recently bailed on Bush himself, notes the surprisingly lopsided vote. I guess the long suffering gay GOP'ers have had enough of Rovian wedge politics. Even though they could have affirmatively opposed Bush, I'm still impressed with that they stood up to him. (Just to put things in perspective, the group continued to endorse Bob Dole in 1996 after his homophobic campaign returned their donations.) It remains to be seen whether the bigot brigade will show up at swing-state polls in enough numbers to prove that pissing off likely gay votes for Bush was worth it.
