Civil Unions, Cali-Style - Now that a judge has upheld California's expansive new DP statute, I know at least one registered couple who will be virtually married in the eyes of the law come January 1st. Ben, are you and Kevin prepared to be civilly united by default in just over three months?

Oh, and speaking of our national crazy quilt of gay relationship laws, the Washington Post reports that the Vermont judge overseeing the dissolution of the Miller-Jenkins civil union has held Lisa in contempt for fleeing to Winchester, Virginia and attempting to use the Commonwealth's anti-gay law to defeat his joint custody ruling.
