Anthropological Expedition - My music posse and me paid a visit to the 9:30 Club last night to take in Scissor Sisters, the gay pop sensation lead by tight-bodied crooner Jake Shears and big-and-buxom Ana Matronic. It was clearly the most homosexual concert crowd I've ever encountered, though your typical skinny Euro-twinks were sprinkled with a few bears (fans of brawny bandmember Babydaddy, no doubt) and even a number of young attractive women (not your everday lesbians or f'hags).

Shears, whom Kyle declared to be his rock-and-roll boyfriend, has a sexy, energetic and homoerotic stage presence that made me appreciate what the big deal was about Freddie Mercury back in his heyday. With cute lil Del Marquis rounding out the group, Chris declared them to be the second most f-able band since Franz Ferdinand. The Sisters' sound was also a throwback to big-glam era Elton John, with thoroughly danceable FM hits. The only difference with their 1970s forebears is that Scissor Sisters don't hide their gay roots, with out and proud anthems like "Take Your Mama" (about coming out by dragging your mom to a gay bar).

In the end, we all had a great time. Oh, and we even hung around after the show to make sure Electrobix got his photo.
