Limits to the Law - Just as I recently blasted Ohio conservatives for extremism in the "defense" of marriage, let me take a moment to say that a new pro-gay bill proposed in the California Assembly is equally absurd. As its sponsor relates in an action alert by Equality California, AB 2889 would "require employers to take reasonable steps to protect their employees from unlawful harassment committed by third parties, such as customers and clients." The regulation of private discrimination is questionable enough. This bill has no purpose other than finding someone else (someone not even guilty of harrassment) for the lawyers to sue. Talk about taking the "nanny state" literally!
