Kids Eat Free - I know some people who have such a Starbucks habit that you probably could snap a rubber nipple on their cup-a-coffee. But as this WaPo story explains, the website called nurseatstarbucks.com isn't about expensive caffeine addictions. Rather, it's about a Maryland mother who is starting a nationwide movement to force the socially-aware chain to permit public breastfeeding (of infants) in all of its stores. (While both Maryland and Virginia exempt such activity from indecent exposure law, only the Free State requires private establishments to allow it.)

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm a little put off by the display. Really, can you imagine walking into a Starbucks where a whole gang of mothers are lactating with their lattes? Whatever happened to the good old days when advances in infant formula were going to relegate breastfeeding to the same category of quaint practices as wet nurses? More to the point, isn't a coffee shop supposed to be a safe space for adults?
