California's Own Washington Times? - Ben, you should pick up a copy of the Sacramento Union when it begins publishing in October. A combination monthly magazine and daily online news source, the new SacUnion.com recently hired Ken Grubbs, a former WashTimes editor, to run the show. Grubbs got in hot water with his conservative bosses for penning a July critique of Rev. Sun Myung Moon's bizarre Capitol Hill coronation ceremony. (Speaking of Moonies, Grubb's former employer appears connected to some kind of Reagan cult and now owns his ranch in Santa Barbara.) Resurrecting an old newspaper name with a long California history, the new Union doesn't plan to compete as a general circulation daily but will instead provide commentary from its own sure-to-be-unique perspective. "Bee" on the lookout!
