Washington Life After 9/11

Passing through Farragut North station today after riding the Red Line to work, I noticed these big cardboard boxes on the platform. (These days, it's a good idea to be observant of such things.) The friendly package lettering indicated the contents were manufactured by BlastGard International Incorporated. This cartoonish name both reassured me that the boxes were not a terror threat, while confirming the unsettling thought that they were only there because such a threat exists. Curious about what was inside? Click here.
