Rocking the Cradle of Love

Speaking of moribund radio stations, the DC gang traveled to Bawlmer on Saturday to experience what could be the last HFStival ever. (It also happened to be my first.) The Post has a feature story about a Virginia Beach family who have been to eleven of the legendary, day-long alternative rock concerts.

Personal highlights: Shirley Manson of Garbage telling the crowd to "take care of one another," local kids Good Charlotte, Billy Idol's age and enthusiasm (and abs), and of course, Coldplay in the rain. (No, Chris Martin didn't bring Baby Apple out for an intro.)

Unfortunately we missed some of the up-and-coming early acts like The Bravery and Louis XIV due to unforeseen circumstances, but the day was rated an overall success. Check out the photo galleries here.
