Love and Taxes

Stories like this one in today's Washington Post pretty well sum up why I'm not rushing to get married to Jamie. Same-sex matrimony is fraught with the kind of conflicts-of-law problems that always gave me a headache in school. So legally married gay couples from Massachusetts can now file joint tax returns in the District (though "the city's Office of Tax and Revenue reserves the authority to reject their filings"). With civil rights progress like that, who wouldn't want to wed?
