Nothing But a Tin Roof Left - The Athens, GA Banner-Herald reports that arson may have taken the humble dwelling that, legend has it, inspired the B-52's early 90s hit "Love Shack." According to the paper, Athens-Clarke County fire officials are investigating the possibility that the early Monday morning fire that destroyed the house, where band member Kate Pierson once lived, was intentionally set. Athens, of course, figures prominently in the landscape of my personal musical odyssey. And yes, Ben, I'm so old that 1989's Cosmic Thing was a major college party album for me.
