Ben and Mena Sell Out - In the battle of the blogs, there's long been a divide between those computing sophisticates who run their own sites using Moveable Type software and us lowly Blogger-by-Google® users. (Showing our envy, the Bhaus did experiment with building a site based on the pre-configured TypePad service last Summer but abandoned the project as too taxing of our limited geek skills.)

Now comes word that the parent company behind MT has gone corporate (limited-time free WSJ link). For now, single-blog, non-profit bloggers can continue to use it at no cost. But one wonders whether the free-spirited Linux-and-Mac types who prefer Moveable Type will continue to patronize Six Apart software as it gets venture funding and refocuses on paying customers from the world of big business.
