Terror Watch - It's been awhile since I posted anything on this topic, but I was prompted by the startling sight yesterday of "SWAT-style special response units armed with MP-5 submachine guns" at the entrance to the Metro station next-door. This and other measures are likely to start interfering with daily life around DC, and today's reports suggest heightened security will likely remain in place through the election. Never mind, of course, that the specific intelligence that led to this weekend's terror warnings appear to come at least three years after the Al Qaeda surveilance on which they are based. Yeah, that makes me feel safer. In any case, it's probably a bad time to schedule lunch with my friend Michael over at the IMF cafeteria.
