Maybe? The jury's still out, but Wayne Rosso, a Shawn Fanning for the new millennium, has gone this week from a Virginian-Pilot cover story to a LATimes feature. Rosso, who left Sony to found RIAA-nemesis Grokster, has given up his pirate ways and launched Mashboxx, hailed as the savior of the record industry by enabling legitimate p2p music trading. The service relies on Snocap (engineered by Fanning) which has already inked deals with the top three music labels.
