'Shameful' Display - What's your legal take on the case being argued in a California court today, John? In the case, a high school junior is arguing that he should have been allowed to wear a t-shirt to school saying "Homosexuality is Shameful" on the GLSEN Day of Silence. The school district is caught between the First Amendment and state and district policies against discrimination based on sexual orientation. Legal issues aside, shouldn't this kid be focused on doing his homework rather than making other people feel bad about themselves?
