"Social conservatives are not happy" - But the Bush Campaign is listening, says the NYTimes. Honestly, I hope W's campaign does give in to pressure from social conservatives and trumpets their views more publicly, because I think that strategy will backfire. One option is to give them more prominent speaking roles at the August GOP convention, which currently highlights moderate Republicans who oppose much of Bush's social program. You have to ask, is raising the profile of gay-bashing an early act of desperation (a la Bush I)?
