A Sure Sign of Gentrification - That's what I'd call it when the Washington Post chooses to illustrate a story about the revitalization of long-neglected H Street NE with a photo of a white male homosexual looking over produce at the new farmers' market. (Okay, I don't know that he's gay, but the Old Navy graphic tee certainly makes the case.) Of course Jamie and I are very excited about 14th-and-U-style redevelopment coming to the nearest commercial strip to our house, but I'm not expecting trendy boutiques or big box retail anytime soon.
